012_Beekay (born Bonginkosi Radebe on June 30, 2010) is a young, breakthrough South African Amapiano and electronic music producer and disc jockey hailing from White City Jabavu, Soweto. Despite his young age, he has quickly established himself as a prominent figure in the underground township music scene, specifically championing the "boots movement" and the darker, bass-heavy "sgidongo" subgenre.
Inspired by genre pioneers like Kabza De Small and the production duo Mellow & Sleazy, Beekay began crafting mixtapes and experimenting with production software at just 12 years old. By mixing traditional Amapiano logs with repetitive, heavy percussion rhythms (reminiscent of industrial stamps and rhythmic boot-stomping), he cultivated a hyper-local niche that rapidly spread via social media dance trends.
His music is defined by hard-hitting percussion, minimalist arrangements, and tracks intentionally built to accompany highly synchronized choreography. He achieved widespread local traction following the release of his debut studio EP, Resonance, which dropped on August 22, 2026.
