Producer. Artist. DJ. National Beat Battle Champion and Self-Proclaimed Chop Artist - one who specializes in the true art of sampling and sonically chopping records to create unique beats and cool sound collages. Known most for his sample-chopping abilities but also adept with drum programming and keyboard work, Ypsilanti, Michigan native Kendall Tucker came up with the Athletic Mic League, a 90s rap collective based in neighboring Ann Arbor. KT issued the first of several solo projects in the late 2000s with his debut instrumental album The Golden Hour (2008), after which he continued to progress while synthesizing a range of inspirations from the dirtiest funk to the coldest post-punk. Additional full-lengths include Nowalataz (2009), 14KillaTape (2011), the Mello Music Group recordings A Friendly Game of KT (2012) and Nickel & Dimed (2013), launched his Karat Gold Music imprint with the release of Elelator (2015), and the Street Corner Music release 14KillaTape: Redux (also 2015). 14KT has outside production work that spans dozens of tracks by the likes of Royce 59, Bun B, Masego, Roc Marciano, Elzhi, Blu, Aloe Blacc, Dennis Coffey, One Be Lo, Danny Brown, the Black Opera, Invincible, and JMSN.
