Jordana is a Seattle‑based DJ, producer and pioneer of U.S. Drum & Bass. From teen years at early underground parties in Pittsburgh she rocketed onto New York’s Jungle Sky roster as "1.8.7". In the late 90s she issued era‑defining albums When Worlds Collide (1997), Quality Rolls (1998) and The Cities Collection (2000). Touring the globe soon followed, as did collabs with TC Izlam, Feral fka MC Kinky, Lady Sovereign and Frank Mendez . In London in 2001 she spun and produced UK garage under the name Lady J, had a show on Flex FM as well as a residency at Trinty at the Chunnel Club.
Press acclaim spans Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Rolling Stone, Vibe, Out Magazine’s OUT100 (’99), For Harriet’s “12 Women in Black Music History,” and Mixmag’s “20 Women Who Shaped Dance Music.” A hate‑crime survivor, Jordana scored the Laverne Cox–produced documentary Free CeCe (2014) and is an outspoken advocate for trans rights, social justice and Black lives—activism woven into 2020’s protest single “Fight For Our Lives” and The Uprising DJ mix.
Recent highlights: Dekmantel podcast and a Hot Mass/Arca bill (2021); co‑writing “The Future” with iLL.Gates & Mimi Page; a triumphant stage return at Kremfest 2022; and a string of underground sets through 2023. In 2024 she launched SpeKtra, her Kremwerk residency, hosting Flava D, Mizeyesis and B‑Complex, and co‑dropping “Lorem Ipsum” with B‑Complex & Zak Meow. Now part of Imagine Audio, Jordana is still pushing the culture forward.
