José Tomás Labarthe (1984) is a chilean musician and writer. Member of the bands <a href="spotify:artist:18uEkX6D9McaiuNWGyj9DO" data-name="Sonic Dealer">Sonic Dealer</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4ujHaFmZMzJXUgOKmNx8gA" data-name="Los Detectives Salvajes">Los Detectives Salvajes</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3e7dXyC8xul1iFZM4URHCm" data-name="Station Wagon">Station Wagon</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0EYfWGAHPugeWUKKvoMU79" data-name="1984">1984</a> is his solo project, a dreamy concept of ambient music, instrumental rock and new wave for the everyday. Under the hashtag #makesomeambient he tries to accomplish the same goal in some of his texts that in his songs. Ethereal soundscapes, vocal-like guitar melodies rooted in heartland and americana. Atmospherics freakouts than cascade and flow easily into meditative states, all mashup in a minimalistic way due to his home studio setup, a Tascam portastudio 12 tracks in an old house of the Central Valley of Chile, Curicó. He translated <a href="spotify:artist:1fpXM23IoNckJ7NDAm8YJQ" data-name="Mark Lanegan">Mark Lanegan</a> poetry into Spanish, in a colection entitled &#34;Mil millas de medianoche&#34; (2024).
