Adam Gleeson was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Hermann, Missouri by his two parents. In middle school, he discovered conventional music as a flute player in marching band, and discovered music production through his 8th grade teacher Mr. Zwicklemeyer. After high school, he joined the Army where he picked up his interest in music production and began making music on his laptop in his spare time. He later graduated with an online degree in Music Production from The Los Angeles Film School where, "the only thing [he] learned was [he] just needed to believe in [him]self."

Adopting the artist name, "1g," he combined the idea of being the only person creating his music, and the nickname he was deemed with in the Army, "G," (short for "Gleeson") into one entity. He left the Army in Fall, 2021, to pursue his independent artist career, and promptly released his first post-degree Single, "not this time," and first full-sized album "feelings," featuring a diverse palette of genre with a focus on Pop, and sub-elements of R&B, lo-fi, and rap. He also created his first music video for the 6th song of his debut album, "FEELINGS," and garnered great attention with the Vevo-branded media.
