Born in the northeast while shortly moving to Waco, Texas thereafter, 1UP’s music style is not focused to one particular region. His music is mostly recognizable by his conspicuous melodies, as he chooses not to adapt a specific geographical sound. His interest in music started when he was a sophomore in high school after his brother began to produce music with his friends. Noticing the fun they were having, 1UP decided to join in one night. He dabbled with vocals for a while and fell in love with the auto-tune effect and how it paired so well with his voice. Later in high school, he started to mix his own vocals and make songs using beats from YouTube. After graduating high school, 1UP attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas for three semesters, where he still tried to make music in his spare time, before a family financial complication prevented him from furthering his education there. 1UP moved back to Waco and went on to meet a local producer named H, who he now consistently works with. Currently, 1UP works at a steakhouse and makes music anytime he is not there. Without much to lose, 1UP lets out all of his emotions in his music, hoping to connect with and inspire his listeners, just as so many other artists have done the same to him.
