Bouncing between the Midwest and West Coast multiple times in his life, Chicago/Nor-Cal based artist Miles Erickson has an expansive body of work that exists in many mediums. But his musical project, 212ceilingface, is simultaneously his most vulnerable and his most cutting edge. Producing abstract electronica from the outset with “Areyouhavingfun?” and slowly evolving into an experimental hip hop artist with SUGARDEMOS, nobody ever knows what the 212ceilingface project will yield next. The only certainties are extensive sound design techniques that challenge the status quo and that Miles’ influences, and intricate arrangements will come together to create a musical landscape that’s captivating, unpredictable, and emotionally resonant.
