215 Asasinz began when Cosmic Kev introduced a high school MC/promoter Suspens to his little brother Kenny Lee. Kenny, a gifted producer embraced Suspens like a little brother. Kenny Lee wanted to start a Philly Hip Hop group. Ironically Suspens already had a crew consisting of Spontaneous, Jim Blast & Crooked Az. They bought an ARS 10 keyboard & tried to teach themselves how to make beats. Kenny Lee synced their ARS 10 to his SP 1200 & produced several tracks for them to write, freestyle & practice to. Kenny recruited an already polished MC named Xsederaw & began bringing his cousin Mr. Webb around. Everyone was from different areas of uptown Philly. They formed an instant bond & chemistry. They independently recorded, pressed & released Guaranteed Hot Shit & iladelph Threat on Vinyl & cassette. The single was #1 on Power 99 for 2 months straight. The group sold out in stores & enjoyed success touring in PA, Jersey, Delaware & Maryland for a year. Jim Blast went away to college, Suspens almost died from an illness & Kenny Lee moved to Florida. This swift chain of events dismantled the group before they could record an album. Kenny Lee eventually moved back to Philly but he soon died from a drug overdose days after agreeing to reassemble the group in a meeting with Suspens & Mr. Webb. Other tracks produced by Kenny Lee include: “Airtight” by Suspens on “Payin Dooz”, “Airtight – Remix” by Suspens on “SR Allstars Volume 1” and “Da Roley Song” by Mr. Webb on “Desparodos”
