Sometimes music can scrape, screech, but also soothe: 22AD , originating from Utrecht, mesmerizes by an powerfull wall of sound, blurring the boundaries between stoner rock, grunge and post-metal. Driven by their love for 90s rock music, you can hear echoes of Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains and QOTSA.
They’ve played with fellow musicians Komatsu and Apex Ten, and played festivals such as StonerGrungFest. On stage, their combination of low and heavy guitars, pounding rhythm section, harmony vocals and synthy sound design, takes the audience on an adventurous, hypnotic and surreal journey.
Sjoerd Kerssies on bass, Dirk Krijgsman vocals and guitar, Jasper van der Steen on drums and 2e vocals, Stijn Bannier on keys.
