28 Nights is a Houston-based band founded by Hans Sebastian Ramirez (bass) in 2022. What began as a search for the right collaborators evolved into a full-fledged creative journey marked by persistence, experimentation, and growth. After a long string of lineup changes, things clicked in 2024 when Hans brought on longtime friend Jesse Nathaniel Menefee (drums) in March, followed by Kyle McGinley (vocals/ rhythm guitar) in May.
Originally aiming for a dreamy shoegaze sound, the band's early sessions leaned more into hard rock-reflecting Kyle's metal roots. But by October 2024, with a shift in the lineup and Kyle stepping into the vox/ rhythm guitar role, the band finally began to lock into the hazy textures and atmospheric melodies Hans had envisioned. Morale and creativity surged. Hans deciphered on the signature effects for bass and guitar, and Kyle handled the production. Jesse's drumming brought a unique depth to the project, drawing influence from bands like Deftones and Alice in Chains— adding a dynamic, textured rhythm section that elevated the band's evolving sound.
By December, David Lorch (lead guitar)-a former member from 2023—rejoined the fold, completing the final form of 28 Nights. Now fully aligned and driven, the band has debuted their sound in the Houston scene, blending ethereal tones with raw emotion and dynamic energy.
