3% is the ARIA-award winning collaborative project from First Nations MCs, songwriters and producers Nooky, Dallas Woods and Angus Field.
Their debut 'OUR PEOPLE' was a stirring re-work of The Presets classic 'My People', a song written about Australia’s treatment of asylum seekers in detention centres, now re-worked by 3%, tackling the subject matter of black deaths in custody.
It was also the first time The Presets allowed an artist to sample ‘My People’.
3% features Nooky – who wears many hats outside of a performing musician. He is the host of Triple J’s Blak Out show and founder of We Are Warriors, recently scoring a Bronze Lion award at Cannes Entertainment Lions for the documentary ‘We Are Warriors: Through The Fire’.
Alongside Nooky is Dallas Woods, a veteran performer and powerhouse songwriter who is credited as the mentor and co-writer behind Baker Boy's ARIA-winning debut album, Gela, brings his own experiences of growing up in a cycle of poverty and abuse and channels them into the lyrical content of 3% first offerings.
Finally, the emerging Angus Field. A soulful singer-songwriter and vocal powerhouse from Coffs Harbour who first teamed up with Nooky at a First Nations Pathways program in 2022, laying the foundations for 3%.
