With a kiss to your third eye, 5th PROJEKT returns with, The Wolf, an adventurous EP released March 7th, 2023 via their own independent label, Organik Rekords. This is the first in a trilogy: The Wolf, The Owl & The Bee.
The Toronto cinematic art-rock band takes us on a mystical journey through ancient lands, painting with psychedelic sound. Flowing effortlessly from avant pop and dreamy shoegaze, to video game drum & bass, into progressive krautrock, each song is a spell bound by the haunting vocals of Tara Rice. The music was written, composed, produced & recorded by Rice & Sködt McNalty, both multi-instrumentalists.
This trilogy of EPs was inspired by 40 days hiking together under the Milky Way along ley lines of The Camino. The album title was inspired by the encounter Rice & McNalty had with a wolf in the wild on their journey.
The Wolf debuted in the !earshot National Top 50 albums at #32, stalking its way up to reach #23. Their previous singles, Vagabond & The Wrong Way were featured in Obscure Sound, Spill Magazine, V13, Canadian Beats, From the Straight, and other local and international publications.
