71 North emerged from the Midwest in 2002 with a fun novelty single, "Cleveland Shuffle," a line-dance song driven by the famous opening bars of <a href="spotify:artist:3fMbdgg4jU18AjLCKBhRSm">Michael Jackson</a>'s "Billie Jean." The Cleveland group had earlier made waves with its "Boodie Bounce" single, which was later re-released, along with two mixes of "Cleveland Shuffle," on their debut album, Watch Us Roll (2002). Warlock Records also released a more economical maxi-single that year that included two mixes of "Cleveland Shuffle," two mixes of "Boodie Bounce," and "Watch Us Roll." ~ Jason Birchmeier
