99 is a half-English, half-Manx artist originally from North Yorkshire.
Grime has always been 99's main genre, a style of music he fiercely loves and will always continue to make. However; with his intricate rhyme schemes and structures, paired with ultra-polished deliveries - genre versatility is something that comes naturally to 99. Pop-Punk, Trap, UK Rap, Hip-Hop, Pop, House, EDM and Bassline are just some of the genres you can expect to hear.
As a teenager, 99 was first taught how to write lyrics and make songs by an artist who later went on to become one of the biggest British rappers in the "Youtube Rap" scene. This unique style of writing and artistry has been passed down by 99 to artists who he himself has mentored and taught.
99 currently resides overseas, but has lived in many different areas across Great Britain throughout his life. With strong links to Harrogate, Middlesbrough, Bradford, Plymouth, York and Blackpool to name a few - 99 appeals to listeners in any location. He takes inspiration for his songs from his lived experiences, his bizarre love life, humorous situations and mental health.
In December 2021; 99 was featured on BBC Radio 1XTRA - receiving a reload by Lady Leshurr. This set 99 up for more mainstream success in the future, later going on to collaborate on songs with illustrious household names in the UK scene such as Devlin, Mic Righteous, Afghan Dan and Grim Sickers; gaining thousands of streams in the process.
