“A mend I ng” takes its name from a word in the song Wings of Heaven by Tiamat.
“Amending” can be translated into Swedish as “förändring” (change), a core word and guiding value for the person behind the artist name. The belief in change is sometimes the only thing that carries a person forward when life feels like an eternal darkness.
A mend I ng describes himself as hopelessly useless at playing instruments—perhaps due to his ADHD—and in the past, he was unable to express or set his thoughts, and sometimes lyrics, to music until AI came as a ”blessing”. Maybe it will bring the change he has been waiting for.
Mental health is a subject close to his heart, both from personal experience and through the people he has met in his work.
There is no straight line when it comes to his songs—they shift between Swedish, English, Latvian, French, and German, from heavy metal to softer tones, from humor to other styles.
The creation process is, first and foremost, for himself. But if just one person were to find something positive in his songs, that would mean everything.
