A Second of Silence

Riding on the metalcore wave of the early 21st century, A Second of Silence formed in 2003 in Mexico City under the name T.O.N.K, ‘knot’ written backwards as a nod to their heroes Slipknot, even wearing masks on stage. After a hiatus, the band A Second of Silence reformed in 2013 with a clear objective: take the Mexican metal scene by storm.

Combining influences from Metalcore, Thrash Metal, Death Metal and even New Wave of British Heavy Metal, they released their EP ‘Dying Light’ in 2015, for which they went on to their first national tour in 2017, the ‘InfierNO Tour’ as the supporting act for fellow chilangos TDH and had the opportunity to do their first international shows, playing in the Cuban festival Pinar Rock as special guests of the metal titans from Cuba: Tendencia.

They became seasoned road warriors playing as support acts for bands like <a href="spotify:artist:5JMS3Ijapn92ZJ8EKFcW59" data-name="Thell Barrio">Thell Barrio</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:52Zn2uHVzdUXzLWl8D0uZa" data-name="Here Comes The Kraken">Here Comes The Kraken</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5WjO9JEK7ynJMIgGD9Yyyr" data-name="Ndm Nuncadigasmuere">Ndm Nuncadigasmuere</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6lBAIZGZ3aHv3eS53wOPF5" data-name="Anima Tempo">Anima Tempo</a> and international acts like <a href="spotify:artist:2diZtCSgoufBBBtkyZT5Sf" data-name="TOTEM">TOTEM</a> from Costa Rica, <a href="spotify:artist:1s3Lb7awTDi0oleWH327Yo" data-name="Far&#39;n&#39;Hate">Far&#39;n&#39;Hate</a> from Spain and <a href="spotify:artist:5tWKFoRpQK6Ur3x9Zd28ae" data-name="Knives to a Gunfight">Knives to a Gunfight</a> from Belgium.
They participated in the online editions of two of the biggest festivals in Mexico: MxChaos, sharing virtual stage with <a href="spotify:artist:6HZr7Fs2VfV1PYHIwo8Ylc" data-name="Suicide Silence">Suicide Silence</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7t6iAou9OfWqHvMkyQZKBS" data-name="So This Is Suffering">So This Is Suffering</a>, and Aztech Metal Fest, with <a href="spotify:artist:7o6cOczXTB8ioTAAJTbESf" data-name="Jinjer">Jinjer</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1DHGS6S7X2lF4cgEa9ErqC" data-name="Shokran">Shokran</a>.

With te release of their 2022 debut album <a href="spotify:album:4KuEFFPyybmw2lUSdLqBOd" data-name="Between Shadows And Oblivion">Between Shadows And Oblivion</a>, and the adittion of Semyace on vocals, the beginning of a new age for the band has begun on 2023.
