Aaron Lee Kaplan is a solo acoustic blues/folk fingerstyle guitarist and singer/songwriter currently living in Marshfield, WI. He has been gaining a reputation throughout Wisconsin for his slide and fingerstyle guitar playing and thought-provoking original songs. He also adds percussion to his voice and guitar with a foot stomp box. His music incorporates a diverse variety of influences and has been described as Twisted Blues. When performing, Kaplan does a mix of originals and unique versions of familiar classic rock, blues and folk songs.
Kaplan (born 10/15/1985) grew up in Salem, Oregon. Originally inspired by classic rock, he started writing songs and playing guitar around the age of 12. Around the age of 15, he began performing at area coffee shops, restaurants and bookstores and releasing self-produced albums.
Since moving to Wisconsin in 2005, Kaplan has performed, both as a soloist and with various groups, a wide variety of music, including classical, choral, bluegrass, folk/pop and rock. In September 2017, he released his EP Some Sunny Day, which has been well received by audiences. One of the songs from that EP was included on the Wisconsin Roots Music Co-Op 2019 compilation CD. In March 2020, he released his new album, Dairyland, a collection of original guitar instrumentals inspired by life in Wisconsin.
