Aaron Yost

My name is Aaron Yost. I am a singer songwriter from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Being born in the mid 90's, I never have distinguished whether I am gen z or a millenial. I supposed that's a good thing considering that for now I can be considered part of both generations.
Growing up I've learned that It's easy to write a song that's formulaic, but its more rewarding to write a song that's both heartfelt and original. That is my number one force for songwriting motivation. When I was still searching for a direction musically I would ask myself, "what type of song isn't out there that I never have experienced before." I have always wanted to hear a style that could enrich someone's life on a more emotional level. Therefore I adopted a style that stems from more layered melancholy sounds with lyrics that tackle certain pressures of life that are not normally discussed in music. Essentially, the style is really an electronic, rock sound with a spiritual-esque quality to it. Overall, when I write I always try to write the best song possible at that time without giving thought to what songs others are writing.
One greek philosopher said that you never do the same thing twice because you are never the exact same person every time you do it. I would revise that by saying that you never write the same song twice because it is not the same song and you are not the same person.
