Born and raised in Karachi, Abbas moved to the US when he was 16 and completed his Masters degree in classical guitar from the conservatory at SMU in 1991. Returning to Karachi, he studied Indian classical music with the renowned Ustad Rais Khan and then moved back to the US.
Since 2012 Abbas has been working as a composer for film and TV and his music has seen usage in countless episodes of TV.
