Abby K draws upon many influences in her music from her childhood days in Kentucky and conveniently short-hands her music as "Heart-Rock".

After releasing her debut album, Bare Your Soul in 2014, and follow-up Heart Shaped Rock in 2016, Abby released The Whole Truth in 2019 shortly before the world came to a screeching pause. It was a cathartic exercise where she found her voice in expressing her inner-most views on a number of pressing realities. Between 2020 and present, the pandemic presented Abby with some “found” time to reflect on the relationship between all of her worlds on her new album, Where We’re At.

A lot about love and life in art tends to be driven by beginnings and endings. Rare is the work that takes aim at the in between, a space without jittery butterflies or a neatly tied (or messily undone) conclusion. This makes Where We’re At a unique endeavor as she explores a moment in time no less complicated or captivating than the bookends of a story. Written in collaboration with her husband Brian, and recorded at Seattle’s iconic London Bridge Studios with the seasoned producer Jonathan Plum, Where We’re At is a charming and thought provoking mix of resplendent folk-pop that touches upon the reality of what it means to be “getting by” together during a time of great uncertainty. The album’s lyrics and varied soundscapes echo the couple’s shared collection of laughter and tears as they find their way forward.
