Local Honey takes her soulful, melodic folk-pop sound to soaring heights. Recorded and produced in Toronto by Steve Sherman, its contributors include Gary Craig on drums (Kathleen Edwards, Jann Arden, Anne Murray, Bruce Cockburn), Alana Bridgewater on backing vocals (Joe Sealy) and Dan Gooch on keyboards and flugel horn (Emily Jill West, Foolhearts). The result is a collection of intimate yet relatable tunes infused with touches of blues, world, gospel and folk that explores everything from mature love to struggling immigrant families to badass bullies. All delivered by a voice that retains its sweetness but adds a time-won edge to its core sound. “I'm a classic late bloomer,” Zotz explains. “But that gives me an advantage in this madhouse of a world. I've seen enough to know that what we do and how we think make a difference. And I refuse to give up hope.”
