My goal in songwriting has always been to capture the mystery of a surreal show like, "The Twilight Zone" or "Black Mirror" and combine it with the pure joy of a Beatles song like "She Loves You." I know this is a bizarre and lofty goal, but like a thirsty dog on a hot humid day, it keeps me chasing shiny objects in the road. The last song I released on Spotify, "My Secret Paradise," is an example of this. It's about a strange seduction by an otherworldly type being that leads to a final kind of Faustian ( sell your soul) decision. But then, it's also kind of like a Benny Hill episode, tongue in cheek and slapstick.
