Abraxa

Abraxa is a German singer and producer based in Berlin. Her musical career began in early childhood with classical piano lessons. In the light of the pressure to perform in classical piano, however, she wished to break out from perfectionism and expectations, strict rules and rigid guidelines. Building on her longstanding background in music and freeing herself from it at the same time, she began to create her own style with her own rules. Liberated from fixed forms, her music eludes a specific genre and uses elements from techno to dark wave and industrial to classical music. The experimental sound of Abraxa draws the listener into a dark, mythic parallel universe of spheric vocal pads, floating beats, pressing piano and powerful synthesizer sounds. Her style ranges fluidly between hope and despair resulting from timeless philosophical questions as well as the twisted Berlin nightlife, a field of tension discharging into equally brachial and lyrical, musical outbursts of emotions.
