Turkish-Irish descent Richard Abidin Breen aka ABS used to sing and dance <a href="spotify:artist:3fMbdgg4jU18AjLCKBhRSm">Michael Jackson</a>'s hits before he started DJ-ing. His passion for dance-pop music led him to join the British boy band <a href="spotify:artist:6rEzedK7cKWjeQWdAYvWVG">5ive</a>, who disbanded in September, 2001. Soon after, executive producer Simon Cowell signed him up as a solo artist. In August, 2002 ABS debuted with the release of the UK Top Ten single "What You Got," featuring samples from Andrea & Donna's 1970s reggae hit "Uptown Top Ranking." ~ Drago Bonacich
