Absconder

Absconder is an independent metal band from the suburbs of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; founded in 2017 by self-taught musicians, guitarists Jérémie Lallier and Samuel Poirier, ex-bassist Justin Poirier and drummer Félix Hamel-Forest. By the time the singles ''Martyrs Of The Light'', ''Woke Up In Hell'' and ''Succubus'' were released in 2018, the band welcomed new bass player Félix Casavant in 2019, with whom the next singles ''Collapse'', ''Fall'' and ''Each Of Your Steps Lead You To Your War Against Me'' were recorded and released.

By 2020, the band welcomed third guitar player, music degree graduate and film scoring enthusiast Olivier Pouliot, adding a new flair to the sound. As of summer 2022, Absconder is about to release their first full length album, featuring songs written dating as far as 2019; along with an abundance of music videos, playthroughs, song breakdowns and more.

Musically, the quintet of early 20-year-old musicians prefers not to give themselves a specific genre of metal to be associated with, since every member comes from a different musical background; whether it being metalcore, traditional heavy, thrash, progressive or even death and black metal and beyond. Thus, this allows the band to create as freely as possible. A main goal of the band's music is to feel human and relatable, depicting topics such as personal issues, concern, mental health, grief, strength, peace of mind and more.
