Hailing from Dublin 12, Ireland, Absentee brings a relatable yet raw and unique listening experience. Writing lyrics about real life situations from his own perspective using confident storytelling and wordplay, sealed with a secure flow. Absentee presents a breath of fresh air to Irish music, with his honest lyrical content and vocal delivery.
Since his debut back in August of 2020, Absentee has released his first two projects "Love Letters of an Absent Mind" and "Absent Hives", while also releasing a string of successful singles throughout the year between projects.
Over the last two years Absentee has received critical acclaim as many big names in the Irish and UK blogging scene, Nialler9, Souldoubt Magazine, and 'Conversations About Her' to name a few. While also being picked up by Hotpress Magazine for a full feature on his song "Blue Skies" (the single to Absnet Hives".
Absentee has grown in the past year and has worked with other new artists such as The Róg Poets, Qbanaa and many more. He also made his Live performance debut in the SoundHouse supporting the group "Powerful Creative Minds", supported for a Burner Records night in Workmans bar and opened for Nixer for their first headline show.
Taking inspiration from artists such as J Cole and Mac Miller, while admiring the rhyme style of Joey Bada$$ and MF DOOM, Absentee is set to be a part in the new wave of young creatives breaking into the Irish music scene, along with his fellow district dwellers at D12 Inc.
