Ace Wisper is a rock band based in Ascot, to the west of London in the UK. The band was formed by Ian Wilson in 2025
Ian grew up in London surrounded by varied music influences. His mother was a music teacher and opera singer, and his father collected vinyl from bands and artists of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Ian’s main early musical influences were Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Muse, The Beatles, Dire Straits and Extreme. He studied classical guitar at Royal Holloway College and later moved on to jazz. He started playing in a duo in folk clubs as a teenager with his lifelong friend and bandmate Pierre Netty. More recently he has been playing gigs and festivals across the UK. Ian’s son Elliot Wilson plays drums on the album which was recorded and mixed in Pierre’s recording studio in Windsor.
The album is a collection of songs with a very personal theme about Ian’s current state of mind, his life experiences and the people that have contributed positively to his life.
His music is a blend of rock, blues, metal and pop with occasional hints of classical arrangements that creep in from his love of composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart, and Rachmaninov. He likes to write songs that create tension but have a melodic release.
You should feel something when listening to the music, and find something to relate to when hearing the lyrics.
