Acid was founded in 2009 in Rock Hill, SC. They are a 2-man band consisting of Parth Patel (guitar, bass) and Connor Weis (drums, vocals, production). They spent the next years recording simple guitar/bass and guitar/drum tracks, honing their songwriting and production skills by writing in various styles of punk and metal. This led to the release of their first album (to the public) in early 2018, Patchwork Landscape. A distinct blackgaze influence was explored by the band in their follow-up self-titled LP, released in late 2018. After a small break in early 2019 Acid returned with Distress Call, a new single-track LP that pushes all of the creative boundaries the two had explored previously. In 2020, Acid released All That Is Left Behind, a post-metal album blending influences from several of their previous projects with an extra dose of heaviness. In 2021, they released Cyclicality, a spiritual successor to Distress Call - their darkest and most mature album, exploring life itself over their most experimental soundscape yet. And in early 2023, they released their newest album Absolute Zero, which was a return to a riff-heavy, instrumental approach similar to All That Is Left Behind, while taking their songwriting in a more upbeat and less dark direction.
