Better remembered for their name than for their music, the Acme Sewage Co. was formed in Kettering, England, in early 1977 by vocalist/guitarist Ozzy, bassist Peter Barber, and drummer Simon Sewage -- the son, incidentally, of avant-rock legend Lol Coxhill. They gigged a lot through the year, including several shows at the legendary Roxy -- they were among the contributors to the venue's Farewell to the Roxy album in 1978, and also landed a brace of tracks on the Raw label's Raw Deal compilation. The band broke up in 1978. ~ Dave Thompson, Rovi
