NEW ALBUM- THE ABSURDITY OF LIFE- OUT 12/09/25
Formed in 2019, Acquiescence are currently a duo consisting of Olly Rogers (Drums, Piano, Producer) and Nick Gillard (Keys, Guitar, Bass, Producer). For their upcoming release they have worked with a phenomenal, Italian vocalist and mixing/mastering engineer, who has helped to bring their songs to life and more.
It's hard to categorise Acquiescence into any specific genre. Their music is extremely ambitious and is inspired by an ecclectic variety of artists. For 'Duplicity' (2021), they mainly drew from metal, pop punk and rock.
For the up and coming album, they have honed in their style and have added electronic and progressive elements to their songwriting and production. It is a mixture between simplicity and complexity, ranging from beautiful orchestral sections to intense, crushing rhythm sections. The album is influenced by experiences and emotions that the members of the band have experienced over the last several years, including derealisation, absurdism, banality, death, suicide and a sense of escapism.
