In September 2016, Rob Atkins (Wellington, New Zealand) and Andro Mathewson (Edinburgh, Scotland) met at the University of Otago in New Zealand and founded Acrillics with the goal of producing electronic music that combines multiple genres and their cross-cultural backgrounds to create a unique sound without the constraints of one musical category. Since their origin, Acrillics has gone on to release tracks on Mat Zo's label Mad Zoo, prominent trap music blog FUXWITHIT, Noiseporn, Electric Hawk and Sub.Terranean Sounds, headline shows and perform at venues across the world, open for artists such as Mat Zo, GTA, Josh Pan, Louie Lastic, AFK, Svdden Death & Shaun Frank and be supported by Alison Wonderland, Dillon Francis, Ookay, Luca Lush and SteLouse.
