Adam Urválek is an amateur musician from Brno, Czech Republic. Since he developed a penchant for playing the piano, his instrument repertoire has expanded greatly. Adam's compositions go beyond the interplay of black and white keys; they are combined with soothing guitar and cello tones.
Reminiscent of ambient soundtracks, his songs aim to induce certain moods, bringing about memories and recollections in the listener. His homemade tracks encourage others to try and make music of their own, exploring their musical personalities. Adam’s work relies heavily on improvisation and playing by ear, which is why he doesn’t always hold his songs to professional standards. In the author's eyes, a flawed song is the most authentic one. Raw authenticity is a defining trait of a song, with flaws only serving to highlight its genuine character.
In 2024, Adam made his debut EP, "Smudges." The composition of its pieces, which reflect the nature of seven colours, represents also the diversity and complexity of human emotion. Some of the tracks are longer, some shorter. Some are made to be hectic and encompass the listener; others are intentionally left simple and unfinished. Starting with Black and concluding with White, the short album points to the human need to come to terms with one's mind.
