Electronic artists and ethno-sampling adventurers Addictive TV were once so eloquently described as ‘next level shit’ by Grandmaster Flash for their audiovisual sampling extravaganzas.
Blending elements of folk, world and electronic, Orchestra of Samples is their global music project where they filmed improvised recording sessions with nearly 300 musicians around the world, from South America, Asia and the Middle-East, to North and West Africa and across Europe, then sampled them all to create new music.
A vast undertaking, Orchestra of Samples grew out of Addictive TV’s much-lauded live audiovisual shows, and whilst touring internationally in pre-Covid times, the project became a vital part of their travels. It's a musical journey without borders!
