Adele Pickvance grew up musically in the contrasting surrounds of the industrial north of England in a town called Bury and sunny Brisbane, Australia. She is known for performing and recording bass guitar with Australia's most acclaimed songwriters, Robert Forster, Grant McLennan, The Go-Betweens, The Far Out Corporation and Dave Graney & Clare Moore in The Dave Graney Show.
Adele was frequently described by Grant McLennan as "The Duchess of the deep end" and continued to play with The Go Betweens from 2000-2006 until the sudden death of Grant. Adele then recorded and toured the post Go Betweens album The Evangelist by Robert Forster.
Adele then moved to Sydney and recorded an album in 2012 with long-time bandmate/ co-rhythm section member of The Go Betweens, Glenn Thompson, under the name Adele & Glenn. The album Carrington Street was released via German label Glitterhouse Records to great critical acclaim.
Now back in Brisbane, Adele formed The Chandeliers with Scott Mercer (We All Want To) on guitar and Ash Shanahan on drums. Ash recorded on the album and then left due to other commitments, replaced by brother Jonny Pickvance.
Adele& The Chandelier's debut album First Date is a collection of 10 songs drawing on the classic pop, post-punk songwriting of bands such as Buzzcocks and Adele's unique, quirky lyrics.
Sept 2022 brings the 1st single, Up There For Thinking, to be released from their forthcoming EP Still Thinking.
