Founded in 2017, Adventureland is Little Rock, Arkansas's premiere maker of good-natured indie rock. Their lush, melody-centered songs capture an essence both bright and moody, oscillating seamlessly between sincerity and irony, hopefulness and pessimism. The band swaps instruments on every tune, musical-chairs style, giving each of the three unique songwriters a turn at the lead microphone.
Adventureland released their debut album, “Hopes of Closure” in 2020. For their 2023 sophomore effort, “Eternal Lightweight,” they worked with mixer Bennett Littlejohn (Hovvdy, Sinai Vessel, Katy Kirby), which resulted in “a gorgeous record full of layered harmonies and delicate guitar work” (Arkansas Times) that’s “relentlessly tuneful and appealing” (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette). Following a melancholic, one-off cover of the Tom T. Hall classic “The Year That Clayton Delaney Died,” their latest single, “Out of the Blue,” comes out on December 17, 2024.
Adventureland is Nate Drahn, Daniel Grear, and Travis Kish.
