Impure pop duo based in Berlin, Germany.
AE are Indonesian vocalist and producer Akila, and half-Bolivian, half-Danish vocalist and instrumentalist Elias O. Graversen. In our music, we like to explore the dualities we face as aliens in both our native countries and in our home Berlin. In our songs, love often becomes a metaphor for broader aspects of our identities, such as femeninity, queerness, and being foreign. Music is our way of coming to terms with and embracing all sides of ourselves, and in the process of making it, we hope to provide a space of comfort for those who can relate. Our debut album "Small Hands" was released on April 1, 2022.
