Hi, I’m Afifa Shaikh ( عفیفہ شیخ )— an independent singer, songwriter, and actor creating music that lives somewhere between the past and the present. My sound blends the soulful echoes of Sufi and folk with a modern, emotional edge.
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. Music has always been more than a passion — it’s been a constant companion, a quiet thread through every chapter of my life. As a listener, I’ve never belonged to one genre. Ghazals, rock, jazz, classical, band music — I fall in love with whatever speaks to the moment. That openness shapes how I create now.
I grew up on the timeless voices of Iqbal Bano, Noor Jahan, and Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan — and while my sound is my own, I try to carry a trace of that soul with me in every song.
This year, I’m releasing a series of collaborations and original tracks — including a duet dropping in just a few days, and a self-written, self-composed song soon after. I’ve also started jamming with my new band as we begin our journey toward live performances.
I still sing for myself — but now, I hope the music finds its way to you, too.
