Against The Voices is an indie-alternative band comprised of members Gabriel K. Hart (guitars/bass/vocals) and Nick Zimmerman (drums/keys/guitar/vocals).
In August 2012, Hart and Zimmerman founded the band <a href="spotify:artist:6PXpQ0BlLaDbjzHp7mLfOm" data-name="Hello Heart">Hello Heart</a>. In 2015, Hello Heart released the 5-song "<a href="spotify:album:0Usn9wW58dH18lfmPOCOIs" data-name="The Fight EP">The Fight EP</a>" produced by hit-songwriter and producer <a href="spotify:artist:2EIwYQDyFRyvTC8YpNaZEQ" data-name="Eric Arjes">Eric Arjes</a> and featuring the song “<a href="spotify:track:2KI7HCiPE4nPZ1yLUxr2y8" data-name="Heart of Winter">Heart of Winter</a>” - recorded with three-time Grammy award-winning producer Mark Heimermann (<a href="spotify:artist:1zK4ACgLi1lVPpfmmcwOTh" data-name="DC Talk">DC Talk</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5aBxFPaaGk9204ssHUvXWN" data-name="Michael W. Smith">Michael W. Smith</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7MbmKsnvXjl4GA7Dr27kko" data-name="Jaci Velasquez">Jaci Velasquez</a>). Songs from the EP received feature film placement and positive reviews from critics, and the group went on to open for bands such as <a href="spotify:artist:1PbBg2aYjWLKRk84zJK15x" data-name="Echosmith">Echosmith</a>.
After exiting the group due to issues with management, Zimmerman and Hart began writing new material together in early 2016, each recording and sending demos back and forth over the internet (akin to <a href="spotify:artist:5yV1qdnmxyIYiSFB02wpDj" data-name="The Postal Service">The Postal Service</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0C0XlULifJtAgn6ZNCW2eu" data-name="The Killers">The Killers</a>) from their respective locations in California and Minnesota.
In November 2019, the two members united in Nashville, TN to finish 3 singles with former collaborator <a href="spotify:artist:2EIwYQDyFRyvTC8YpNaZEQ" data-name="Eric Arjes">Eric Arjes</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:6roFdX1y5BYSbp60OTJWMd" data-name="Tim McGraw">Tim McGraw</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1SZMaiNHfdUuU0qZKZ6y62" data-name="Newsboys">Newsboys</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0Bvs8yPjrQSbmVIRqSg1Sp" data-name="Thompson Square">Thompson Square</a>) acting as executive producer and Jeff Braun (<a href="spotify:artist:6d4jrmreCmsenscuieJERc" data-name="The Band CAMINO">The Band CAMINO</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3FfvYsEGaIb52QPXhg4DcH" data-name="Jason Aldean">Jason Aldean</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7H6dkUChT5EoOQtUVMg4cN" data-name="Hunter Hayes">Hunter Hayes</a>) mixing and mastering the tracks.
The duo’s debut single “Don’t Talk About It” released April 10, 2020, followed by 5 subsequent singles and a remix by <a href="spotify:artist:5QUtZ4R2ZxWxOSrrvxj4jU" data-name="Will Chapman">Will Chapman</a> of <a href="spotify:artist:6R664N4cEza3eORSqKSgO4" data-name="Colony House">Colony House</a>. 2023 saw the duo collaborate with <a href="spotify:artist:5QUtZ4R2ZxWxOSrrvxj4jU" data-name="Will Chapman">Will Chapman</a> again for Halloween on the eclectic, paranoia-induced single "Happy Birthday".
