Agent Moosehead’s music at times fuses Indie Jazz atmospheres with angular Prog rhythms and vintage video game soundtracks with the intensity of robot metal at others.
Formed in 2004 by brothers Chris (Guitar) and Pete (Bass) Dippolito with drummer Jon McNally, Agent Moosehead has over the years hosted a fluid lineup consisting of some of Philadelphia’s most inventive musicians...many of whom have gone on to contribute their talents to groups such as The West Philly Orchestra, Hard Work Movement, Upholstery, On The Water, and The Warriors of Wonderful Sound. At their smallest, a trio of guitar, bass, and drums. At their largest, eight pieces or more with keys, vibes, trumpet, woodwinds, and cello.
After recording their debut release, “Neil, Throw the Switch!” in 2007, AMH spent the better part of eight years gigging and promoting their material before starting work on their follow up record that would become 2018’s “My Dracula Sleeps with His Mind Open”.
Notable experiences and events along the way include a set with Ed Mann (Frank Zappa) for the New York Harvest Fest, performances with Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel) and Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic, Talking Heads) and film re-scores by guitarist Chris Dippolito played live to “Attack of the Giant Leeches” and “El Topo”.
