Agustín Amigó is a modern classical guitar composer. Born in Tenerife (Canary Islands), at the age of thirteen, he was already in the final of the Jugend Musiziert competition in Valencia with an own composition.
Initially his guitar playing was influenced by Irish Folk and Celtic music and most recordings feature a steel string guitar. Then transitioning to the nylon string crossover- and classical guitar recovering affinity to his Spanish and Latin American cultural roots and crossing over stylistic boundaries. Amigó is a prolific creator who experiments with different tunings, strings and capos with an autodidactic and empirical approach. His most recent single <a href="spotify:album:2RR6hTCJOFoyBxNlnKw3pO" data-name="Blue Sapphire">Blue Sapphire</a> features a seven-string guitar seeking a guitar sound closer to the rich sound of the piano.
Over the last years he did collaborations with renowned guitarists like Grammy Award Winner Andrew York and German Maestro Ulli Boegershausen.
On 2024/25 he participated in some international competitions including:
3rd prize winner at the 9th International Fidelio Guitar Composition Competition
Finalist at the 30th Annual USA Songwriting Competition
Finalist at the 10th International Fidelio Guitar Composition Competition
