Ahead of Ourselves is an indie band based out of the suburbs of Chicago who came together casually during their freshman year in order to participate in their high school’s talent show. The band took form when bass player, Aidan, and guitar player, Kyle met during a study session and sought to live up to the standards of multiple senior-year bands that they idolized. Kyle’s longtime friend Griffen rounded out drums and Max took the mic as their lead singer.
In their six years together, the band has gone on to release four Singles and play countless shows around the Chicago suburbs. Though their sound has changed over time, the band has maintained the same drive and passion for storytelling through music. Each song embodies a feeling or memory that the band hopes to take with them as they continue their creative journey.
Though apart from one another for college, the boys are still making music together in hopes of memorializing key periods of their lives while also embodying a hopeful look towards the future.
