After 4 years of hiatus from the music scene AIKA is coming back with her latest song "daddy" releasing March 2 2023. "daddy" is a song written for AIKA's dad , legendary saxophone player Makoto Hirahara ,which he unfortunately passed away in 2021 .
AIKA’s music is a combination of catchy melodies and elements of Indie-pop, Pop, Rock, Acoustic, Electronica and Jazz.
AIKA is known for her debut album “Ai-Wo”(EMI JAPAN) which reached the top 10 Japanese Charts on its first week of its release in rave reviews. Furthermore as a songwriter , AIKA wrote the platinum Japanese hit "Path Of Independence" which is still one of the biggest selling songs in Japan.
AIKA’s “Dancing Arrows” (2011) was used as the official theme song/promotion song of the Warner Brothers movie “IRONCLAD” featuring Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Paul Giamatti, Brian Cox, Kate Mara, James Purefoy. In addition , AIKA's "SOLE" was used in the movie "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" with award winning actress Tina Fey.
AIKA is also the co-writer of "Live Out Loud" which is the anthem for the Tokyo SkyTree Global Campaign Tree of Hope W1sh Ribbon Project and it was used to promote the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
