A.J.SUN.C. was founded to channel ideas from a life dedicated to the exploration of creativity. In a Progressive Rock/Metal style both lyrical and melodic, we aspire to capture the power, majesty, tragedy, and beauty of big ideas with freedom to diverge into other genres without limitations. Evocative, emotive, and intelligent lyrics about fascinating topics and stories, often enriched with orchestral instruments.
Creation is not a choice; it is a necessity. Inspiration is everywhere, from novels to news stories, from daily surroundings to the mysteries of the universe. We honor and immortalize ideas by composing them in song.
Decades of live performance proved an insufficient creative outlet. Live shows are exhilarating but may not allow the full expression of an idea. Collaborating with other musicians and songwriters over the years contributed to the ideas and perspectives expressed. Primary influences include Dream Theater, Symphony X, Metallica, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Dio, Mudvayne, Queensryche, King Diamond, Disturbed, Volbeat, and Hozier.
Traumas of the Ideal was a breakthrough first album after years of cataloging ideas without a way to express them. Home digital recording and the encouragement of loved ones made this possible and opened the creative flood gates.
