At the tender age of 12, Aklesso was left with a void when his father abandoned him, a silence that he filled with the first chords of his music. As a first-generation American, the arts seemed like a distant dream, overshadowed by the pressures of traditional career paths.

It wasn’t until his days at the Naval Academy, where a friend named Julian introduced him to the magic of GarageBand, that Aklesso began to see music not just as a hobby, but as a beacon of expression. However, the path was not straightforward. Transferring to Liberty University, Aklesso met Darius Dixon, a friend turned brother who would become his biggest support for his artistry. Despite Darius's constant encouragement to pursue music full-time, Aklesso felt tethered by cultural expectations to become a lawyer, doctor, or engineer.

Soon after, Darius tragically passed in a car accident. The unexpected loss of Darius was the catalyst Aklesso needed. In memory of his best friend, he turned his grief into art, his pain into lyrics, and his solitude into solidarity. Since then, Aklesso has embarked on three national tours, released two EPs, and dropped three mixtapes, each project a testament to his evolving journey.

Aklesso’s music resonates with those who have felt the sting of loneliness, the weight of misfortune, and the quest for purpose. Through his music, Aklesso not only keeps the memory of Darius alive but also continues to inspire and provide peace to all who listen.
