Akuvi is a Ghanaian-Norwegian Afro fusion artist with roots in the Volta Region in Ghana and northern parts of Norway. Her explorative sound blends soulful rnb with Afrobeats and hiphop, giving vulnerability a fierce expression. Apart from recently getting to Top 3 in the acclaimed Norwegian tv show «Battle of the stars», Akuvi is known for being a finalist in the Norwegian Eurovision and for being the Norwegian voice behind animation characters like Dolores in Disney's Oscar winning "Encanto" and Karma in Ludacris' Netflix series "Karma's World". Akuvi works in Norway and Ghana, making waves in both places through viral performances and highly anticipated collaborations with Ghanaian artists.
Akuvi comes from an international music family, where artistic expression through song, dance and art has always been a natural part of life. Her sister, Anna-Lisa Kumoji, and her father, Kofi Kumoji, are both artists. Akuvi’s music career kicked off while she was studying in Cape Town, South Africa, where she stayed for many years. She has since released a number of songs which have been listed on radio and received critical acclaim, and have partaken in several festivals and tv shows in Norway and South Africa.
