Albert Meintjes

Albert Meintjes is no newcomer to the stages of music. His extraordinary approach to the, acoustic singer-songwriter/World music style of music, has captured audiences around the world.
After two successful albums with his band Scicoustic and a duet album with acclaimed acoustic instrumentalist and singer Greg Georgiades, Albert launched his debut solo album in 2017. The album was written on tour through Namibia and the aim was to capture the beauty of the country and places he visited into eleven exceptional tracks. “I’m a singing traveling story telling man” says Meintjes who writes about his travels and beautiful encounters with people and emotions. In 2019 Meintjes release his second solo album “Peace & Tunes” with 5 English and 5 Afrikaans tracks. “I always wanted to write in Afrikaans as I perform quite a number of Afrikaans songs at shows” says Albert. In 2020 I released a single called Freedom. A song inspired by the abuse of power by the leaders of the world. I am so grateful for receiving a Global Music Award bronze medal for the song.
