Raised on a foundation of country, R&B and soul music, North Carolina native Alec Bailey picked up a guitar and started writing at 13. He performed his songs and covers in backwoods bars and social media until an opportunity came to tour the world at 17.

Bailey spent time in Los Angeles before planting roots in Nashville and connecting with producer and songwriting partner Tyler Johnson (Harry Styles, Sam Smith, Megan Trainor). Drawing on early influences Willie Nelson, John Mayer, and John Prine as well as contemporaries Bon Iver and James Blake, Alec’s sound evolved into eloquent, dusty folk with a modern touch of experimentation.

Bailey’s debut single “Callin’” was released in 2018 caught the attention of Spotify’s editorial team, who playlisted the track across the platform. The song garnered early rave reviews from both press and fans.

For Bailey, 2020 has been a year of growth channeled into new music. Out of relentless home studio writing and recording came his most recent release “Chernobyl”, which has independently generated over 10 million streams to date.
