Aleksi Kinnunen

Aleksi Kinnunen is a Finnish electronic music producer and drummer.


Trumpeter Aki Himanen and drummer Aleksi Kinnunen form together an explosive duo that blends Scandinavian jazz with the pulsating rhythms of techno music. They are constantly searching for new ways where humans and machines can create a real dialogue. Improvisation, spontaneity and musical communication form the core of their work.


The music is dark, intense and a poetic mix full of hypnotic mental images. It reminds you of Scandinavian landscapes where nature and technology are smoothly melting together. A suspenseful nightly car drive somewhere between the futuristic mountains where dawn is setting and darkness fades in a slow and beautiful way.


The duo’s Dawn Drops EP was released by Jazz-O-Tech in 2021. It gathered wide critical acclaim (DJ MAG, Mixmag, Inverted Audio, FAZE magazine, JazzEspresso etc.) and a great amount of radio plays and Spotify playlist features all over the world. The duo is also well-known for it’s danceable and energetic live performances. They have performed in a wide variety of venues from techno clubs to famous jazz festivals like JazzMi and Fano Jazz by the Sea.
