ALESSANA started making home-made music videos in lockdown on Portobello Road about ex-boyfriends using a selfie-stick, a bucket of mud and some vegetables. The West London indie-soul singer-songwriter, artist and filmmaker draws inspiration from her own experiences and stories of her community. Her directorial debut music video, 'Ragdoll of Portobello Road' was nominated at the Portobello Film Festival last year. She has also composed songs for soundtracks of films by Emmy, Grammy and BAFTA-nominated directors and commissioned by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea to write songs about lives of elderly residents.

ALESSANA and composed the songs from the Debut EP while living in derelict buildings of Portobello Road. Her and her band (Nash - Drums; Pip - Guitar; David - Bass Guitar; Manfredi - Keys; ) rehearse every week in an Alice in Wonderland shed in the back of a garden in North London. With raw storytelling at the heart of each show, Alessana and her band play an energetic fusion of indie, soul and reggae; an authentic tapestry of London life.

They will play their headline show to launch the EP on Thursday 7th March 2024.

Alessana studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and Anthropology at UCL and streetcasts non-actors for multi-award winning directors. She has a stall on Portobello Market and pours her creativity into her songwriting and music videos.
