Alessa's Cry was created as a solo project in 2009 in Barcelona, by the hand of Odigir Olaf. After some experiences playing in several bands (Odín, Dunkelstorm, Dying), Olaf decides to found a project inspired on the aesthetics and mythology of the Silent Hill video game series, providing that rusted and bloody atmosphere to a very personal and melodic death metal with a certain progressive touch.
The composition and recording of the eight tracks on the album "Escape to the Dark" took place in Barcelona between 2009 and 2010, while the mixing and mastering was done in Seville, between 2014 and 2015. The composition of more material to be included in the next album continued between these two periods. All this work was fully executed by Odigir Olaf.
In late 2014, after three years of searching, Olaf managed to establish a formation in Seville to present Alessa's Cry as an active band to bring music to gigs. Together, as a quartet, the songs absorb the personality of the members and raise the compositions with energy and attitude. Alessa's Cry is a versatile band, including fast and technical riffs in its setlist, melodic solos, shattered voices, catchy choruses and abundant tempo changes in a dynamic repertoire for the audience, wether fans of heavy metal, thrash metal, or Swedish-influenced melodic death metal.
